Hi! I am Jenny Dresden and I am running for school board because I care deeply about the safety and education of our students as well as the reputation of our schools. Our district is growing and there are plans to build a new elementary school in Edgmont. Existing schools will also be refurbished as part of an overall project that is estimated to cost nearly $100 million. The district has already borrowed $40 million as the first installment on a project and I want to be sure that we get the maximum benefit possible from this unprecedented investment.

About me: I have lived in the Rose Tree Media School District for 25 years – 13 years in Middletown Township and 12 years in Edgmont Township. I have 3 children, 2 recent Penncrest grads, currently in college, and my youngest is a sophomore at Penncrest. I have a B.S. in Finance from St. Joseph’s University. I worked as an accountant for a Fortune 500 company before holding my current position of stay-at-home mom.

I have been very involved with the school district since my oldest started Kindergarten. While my children were at Glenwood and Springton Lake I was a member of the PTG boards every year, including holding the offices of President, Vice-President, and treasurer. At Penncrest I held the position of President and am currently Vice-President of the PTG.   I served on the Principal’s Advisory Board and the Superintendent’s Advisory Board for Penncrest High School, Springton Lake Middle School and Glenwood Elementary.  I have been a member of many parent and district committees during my 15 years with the district.  I am currently a member of the Graduation Requirements Committee and the Wellness Committee.
